GAF offers up to a limited lifetime warranty. For more information you can visit GAF.com/warranties.
GAF shingles are backed by a 15-year wind warranty. The maximum wind speed coverage depends on the specific type of shingles installed on your home. For example, GAF Timberline HDZ shingles are eligible for up to 130 mph of wind coverage, while GAF Timberline Shingles are eligible for up to 110 mph of wind coverage.
Designer shingles, such as GAF’s Timberline® AS II, often carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact-resistance rating, the highest for hail resistance, indicating superior durability against hail and severe weather conditions. Architectural shingles, while also thicker and more durable than traditional shingles, typically do not have a specific hail rating, although they are designed to withstand various weather-related stresses. Therefore, for areas prone to hail, designer shingles with a Class 4 rating may be a more suitable choice, offering both aesthetic appeal and enhanced protection
